Victor M. Alves brings more than 25 years of senior buy-side investment operations experience to Portus Cale LLC. His career spans hedge funds, venture capital, private markets, and institutional asset managers — providing a comprehensive, end-to-end perspective on what it takes to build, launch, and scale a fund from inception to institutional readiness.
Most recently, Victor served as Director of Launch Services and Onboarding at Windstream Partners LLC, where he led the full-cycle launch of more than 15 investment funds across hedge fund, private equity, and venture capital strategies. In that capacity, he coordinated prime brokers, OMS providers, fund administrators, compliance teams, and technology partners — delivering institutional-grade infrastructure on time and at scale.
Prior to Windstream, Victor spent nearly nine years as Senior Investment Operations and Settlements Manager at Cardinal Capital Management in Greenwich, CT, where he led a firmwide systems modernization effort — migrating more than 25 years of historical client data across approximately 2,000 accounts — and reduced settlement and reconciliation breaks by approximately 95% through rigorous operational redesign and controls.
Earlier in his career, Victor held senior portfolio administration and equity trading roles at Silvercrest Asset Management Group and ING Investment Management, developing deep expertise in trade operations, reconciliation, cash management, and performance reporting across institutional and high-net-worth platforms.
Victor holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting from Mercy University. He is fluent in Portuguese, based in Scarsdale, New York, and serves institutional managers and emerging funds globally.
